"Awesome graphics, awesome old school gameplay, awesome awesome." - MidianGTX

"The Fire Pits levels are AMAZING!! The intense, relentless level designs and very nice tile-based 2d art and animations... Some of the later levels are REALLY intense and epic without getting monotonous / impossible..." - Radim

You play as Dante, the heart-broken hero of the game. With Virgil as your guide, you embark on an adventure through the circles of Hell facing fire pits, filth infested waters and frozen wastelands all in the name of love.

Reach Beatrice before she gets condemned to hell for betraying her husband with you. Only from the clutches of Lucifer himself can you acquire the Thorn Ring and place it on Beatrice’s finger.

But hurry! You only have a few hours left before her final judgment.

Solve riddles, avoid enemies and pitfalls to finally find your love.

The game is inspired by the Divine Comedy from Italian poet Dante Alighieri and comprises hours of fun.

Why are the in app purchases $2.99?

:
Why are the in app purchases $2.99 when the full version with 121 levels is now 99 cents? Please change the in app purchases from $2.99 to 99 cents. It makes no sense..

Controls!

:
I'm sure this game is great but the controls are so messed up I can't even play it!

GREED and SLOTH are this game's Sins...

:
Do not get this game (yet)! This could be a GREAT game. It's all here. The graphics. The setting. The story (based on Dante's Inferno, of course). It's fun, it's challenging, and it's "free" (more on this in a second; it's really not and is more of a Lite version). So what's the problem?

#1. Sloth. The controls are AWFUL; clumsy and unresponsive in a game where timing is Everything. If this was a button-masher, I wouldn't care. But 100s of reviews have complained about this now, and the developers have done nothing to fix it. The challenge in the game should come from gameplay, not from the controls causing hundreds of deaths and screwups.

#2 Greed. The worst sin. This app used to be $1. And that's what it's worth --only 200Mb RPGs are worth more. The devs made the game Free (first 50 levels) as part of the FreeAppADay.com promotions. Except you now have to pay $2.99 to purchase all remaining levels. I have no issues with price-raising, but this is so completely in violation of the SPIRIT of the FAAP that it makes my blood boil. Giving your app away free is intended to raise your profile (and iTunes rank) so you can sell more copies. This is the first I've heard of a game dev reworking their game to be an extended Demo/Lite version and then price gouge. I'm actually impressed at how Malicious this is LOL; what else should you expect from the makers of a Demon-themed game?

Until these changes are made, DO NOT BUY. When the controls and price are fixed, I'll change this review to Five Stars. In the meantime, I'm asking iTunes readers to rate this review Helpful to send a message to the game developers and anyone else who tries to get cute & greedy with the App promotions. Do not violate our trust or we WILL cost you business.
